Producing Media

Purpose: To help Scouts to research a topic, form opinions and provide information which will educate others in a lively and informative way.

Development Stage:
• Identifying the problems
• Developing Awareness
• Taking Action
• Measuring Change

Instructions:
This activity can be used at all four stages of the project planning process. Scouts could produce one of the following on a topic of their choice in relation to the Gifts for Peace project. The purpose should be to research a topic, develop their views and share their findings with others. The following media may be used:
• Video
• Documentary
• Movie
• News article
• Story
• Poem
• Cartoon
• Web-site
Scouts should think about where and when their piece of media should be presented and try to organise this for themselves.

Equipment Needed:
Video, documentary, movie – video camera, computer,
News article, story – tape recorder, camera,
Story, poem, cartoon – pens, paper, drawings
Web-site – computer and web-site software, stories, photographs,
